Geraniums are a flower commonly grown for their amazing beauty and for use by the perfume industry. There are more than 200 varieties of geraniums, but only a select few are used for their essential oils. The ancient Egyptians were known to use Geranium for skin salves and creams. During the Victorian Era, geraniums were used as decorative, and edible centerpieces for formal dining arrangements. The edible flowers and leaves of geraniums are often included in dessert and drink recipes.
